Ballistic League Is Coming!

From the creators of the SOCOM IN FORNITE community and SIF League comes the new try-hard event in Fortnite, the SIF Ballistic League!

Just like the 10 season SIF league created by founder “xxKingYoshi” the new Ballistic League with provide players with a recruited league season to sign up and be drafter by the seasons captains. In addition to the regular league season, there will be Clan Wars to enjoy a vendetta or two with your fellow rivals and alliances alike along with weekly scrim nights as well as team and player real time statistics.

Once again in resemblance to the SOCOM in Fortnite community, we will be bringing in epic creators to replicate the official release Ballistic maps we all know and love as well as custom creative maps with even more possibilities to create clones of maps from other classic shooters like Call of Duty, Battlefield and even bring over some of our favorite SOCOM: US Navy Seals maps as well! The possibilities are endless!

Below is some video footage of some of the Seasons highlights of the SIF league and SOCOM maps as well as an interview and review done by the GameSpot magazine!

Fortnite Players Have Built A Competitive SOCOM League Within The Game

They’ve recreated the military shooters maps and mechanics with Fortnite’s creative mode.

Competitive communities are a dime a dozen, but you’d be surprised by how far some players go to keep their favorite games alive—even if it means recreating one game within another. Fans of SOCOM: US Navy Seals have recreated the shooter within Fortnite‘s creative mode and are running their own league.

“We have over 20 of the maps across the franchise with all game mode mechanics and rules from the original series,” King Yoshi, who is also creating Super Mario 64 in Fortnite, told GameSpot. “We are constantly running tournaments, league seasons, and various other events.”

King Yoshi and other creators have remade maps from across the Sony-published third person shooter, including Crossroads, Bitter Jungle, and Desert Glory. They’ve also created original maps inspired by level design in SOCOM. Special in-game rules, like the amount of health every player has, friendly fire, available weapons, and match length and structure have been adjusted to match the military shooter as closely as possible.

The first entry in the franchise, SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals, launched in 2002 while SOCOM 4, the last entry, released in 2011. There has been no news about another entry as the studio behind the series, Zipper Interactive, shuttered in 2012. King Yoshi and others, just like pro Super Smash Bros. Amiibo trainers, have had to take matters into their own hands.

The community has a Discord server with over 500 members who host 4v4, 6v6, and other types of tournaments. They are in the middle of the playoffs for their current season, which will end in a couple of weeks. Another season is scheduled afterwards.
